Chapter President: Fatimah Areola
Hey, I’m Fatimah! I’m really excited to take on the role of Chapter President! I just finished 2B Management Engineering and this will be my second full year on IISE. I joined because I wanted to get closer to the engineering community here at UW and explore the opportunities available for students to develop their leadership skills. My goal for this term is to connect first-year students with resources they may need for a successful start to university! I’m looking forward to working with the IISE team to grow our chapter into a sustainable resource for students to develop their academic, professional and social skills.

Hi everyone, I’m Sunaina Basa and I’m this year’s co- Vice President. I’m currently studying Management Engineering and on my fourth work term. I’m looking forward to work with our dedicated team and draw from my past experience in IISE to grow our chapter into a very successful one!
Marketing Director: Tala Farag
Hey everyone! I am Tala Farag and I will be this term’s Marketing Director. I am going into 2A in the fall and it is currently my first term in this position in IISE. I am very excited to be part of IISE to help organize and advertise all the events that they host to help all Management Engineering students. My goal as the marketing director is to help make this chapter as successful as possible by organizing and promoting all the different events that IISE hosts to ensure that everyone gets an opportunity to participate and enjoy in all the exciting activities that IISE has to offer.
Finance Director: Dana Mohammed
Hello! I’m Dana and I’m going into 2A Management Engineering. This is my first year joining IISE and I’m so excited to be this year’s finance director. I’ve been to the last IISE conference in Concordia and I absolutely loved the atmosphere. Seeing all these engineers connecting, networking and representing their universities with a joyful spirit encouraged me to become more involved. I’m super excited to show you what UWaterloo IISE has to offer and I can’t wait to represent UW in the coming conference!
Operations Director: Oriana Coburn
Hi, I’m Oriana Coburn, and I’ll be joining UWaterloo IISE as an Operations Director. This is my second term in the role and I’m excited to join the chapter! Attending events run by IISE in my 1st year exposed me to the great work that the chapter does, and after having the opportunity to be a delegate at this year’s conference, I knew I wanted to join the team. As an Operations Director, my goal is to organize events that successfully increase the awareness of Management Engineering, and provide students with the opportunity to grow professionally, academically and socially.
Operations Director: Sunrise Long
Hey I’m Sunrise, the Operations director for IISE. This is my third year with the chapter but hope to draw from my experience in other leadership positions. Previously, I had the pleasure of attending the IISE Conference in Halifax as a delegate. I loved how the organization connects students and industry leaders to discover the endless industrial engineering possibilities. I joined the chapter because I’m fascinated with industrial and management engineering. I think there is something so interesting about taking multifaceted systems and distilling it down into one refined structure. I champion sustainable long-term growth and hope lead the chapter in that direction.
Conference Director: Kaitlyn Masseo
Hi everyone, I’m Kaitlyn Masseo and I’m this year’s Conference Director. I’m currently studying Management Engineering and on my fourth work term, and will be going into my 4A term in the fall. This is my second year joining the IISE Executive team. I’ve been to the past couple of conferences, which made me want to become more involved. I joined because not only does everyone involved have so much passion towards what they do, but they have fun while doing it. I’m super excited to help everyone see all the great and rewarding opportunities IISE has to offer!
